I am a free-lance writer. I like to write mostly about social issues and all those happenings surrounding our lives which affect us in very subtle ways. Nobody is immune from the effects of crime in our society since the pattern of crime has changed with mobility and technology. We seek security and safety to live a better life. We should be able to move freely in our surroundings enjoying the full benefits of natural beauty and other gifts that come for Canadians as Canada being one the finest countries in the world. Crime, if not checked, can make the same beautiful country a living hell. To avert such a dire situation we have to recognize that it is the police officer who will defend and protect us. The balance of justice may tip up or down but eventually it will level off with the effort of police officers who are greatest of Levellers. And this is the shinning virtue of police officers It is in them to protect us. They are the law. Their strength is imperative to protect the innocent people who have faith in the protection that they offer. This website has been established to make people recognize the fact that a person who is prepared to give his/her life in protecting innocent people is the police officer. No police officer should ever be suspected that he /she will not protect you because it is in their spirit to protect you and pray for your safety before they think of protecting themselves or praying for themselves. Great police officers are angered by injustice in society but are not frightened by it and they will fight head on eliminating injustices for they are the law.

A few weeks ago a police officer came to my aid because I accidentally left my keys in my car while trying to help a Lowes employee load my new lawnmower in my car. The officer was quick and got the job done without a scratch on my car. I was so grateful that I didn’t have to call a locksmith and pay a fee!

It surely is a nice feeling to get help when you need it and without any hassle. Police officers are known to help the public and I would say they are the most visible public servants in the real sense of the word. We must respect them and honor them in the best possible way we can, and this is the message of my blog as well. Thanks for sharing your positive experience. Take care. thank you for your blog. It is magnificent how you honor police officers. Most of them are great officers who are decent, law-abiding citizens themselves and I think they try and do a good job of policing themselves unless they are too beaten down by higher ups that get into power in certain cities-I’m talking US. I know nothing of Canadian woes. I only have a wonderful and dear friend who is a Canadian and I know I am followed by others. If ever I can be of service or offer prayer, please do not hesitate to ask… I am honored that you follow me.

Well, as a fellow blogger, op-ed writer and investigative journalist, I understand what it takes to weave together relevant commentary. And it is especially important to come across a blog which offers a forum for police support. Too many bash their efforts.
That being said, perhaps your readers would be interested in this too – http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/10/terror_cop.html …it is a relevant op-ed.

Wonderfully written. Thank you for supporting The Thin Blue Line. Not many understand the Job. Fewer understand that our families bear the burden and brunt of what must be experienced during any given tour of duty, and then carrying the scars, back home at the end of the shift. Being able to be there to help others is the reward of knowing you did your job and helped another person. The reality of it is, I missed birthdays. I missed anniversaries. I worked almost every holiday. I missed social functions. I disappointed my wife and kids by not being there for them, as I was in Central Booking, or the District Attorney’s office, or Criminal Court, or State Supreme Court, or the Grand Jury, or training, or filling an absentee slot that could not go unmanned, or hunting down someone that society could not bear to have loose preying on a community. During my years, I made 574 arrests and earned 48 citations. Many others, did much, much more, and paid a greater price of alienation from friends and family. It’s a thankless job, that only became more and more political in nature, as time progressed. Keeping the streets safe, is a Calling. I continue to notice things amiss with people on the street. Many times, I revert back into an on-duty mode, when something of a criminal nature occurs. Today’s cops, don’t even ask if I was a cop, because when we talk, they know it, within the first few seconds. In my heart and in my brain, I am still, a cop.

After reading your response I am truly impressed by the truthful account of your responsibilities and how seriously you take them. General public lacks the wisdom and understanding of the critical nature of your job. Simply put we feel safe and secure because of the concern you have for the citizens which most of the times comes at a cost of innumerable personal sacrifices. Every pleasure of a common person is tied to your care. We are free and happy because you are our guardians. Please keep on providing the necessary protection, we thrive on that. Thanks for your visit, for liking my post and following my blog. I am glad you appreciate my lifelong mission to support our protectors, you being one of them. Take care and have a lovely weekend.

Ah, this explains much! 🙂
A worthy police officer is very worthy.
I’ve just read online a report on a young black man in the US who waved to police because he thought they were familiar, but the police suddenly swooped their car in front of him, ordered him off his bike, handcuffed him, threatened him with a taser and hammered him with questions without letting him answer. If I started this by saying, “a young pastor who is also a firefighter and has four children who waved at the police” you wouldn’t quite get what I’m saying. But yes, he was a pastor and firefighter, & only when the police learned that last bit, they became less aggressive & settled down. It’s difficult to have respect for police who treat people waving at them with a smile on their face, like that – but to all the good parts of what you write I say ‘wonderful to hear’.

I agree with you that in the light of the incident that you have quoted it is very difficult to respect that particular police officer. Yet you will agree with me that in every organization there are good and there are depraved individuals. Sometimes the bad actions of one can overshadow the good of the thousands. Here media sensationalizes these kinds of negative incidents and hardly mentions the good these officers do every moment. I have read about the many incidents where a police officer stopped to help the person waving for help and in return ended up getting shot in the face. Policing is a very difficult and dangerous profession and the more I am learning about it the more respect and honor I have for them. They go out every day knowing well that they may never return for dinner with their families. Sometimes over cautious approach is better than risking their lives and losing them forever. I appreciate your taking so much time for sharing such lovely thoughts and for such beautiful compliments. Thanks and God bless.

Thank you so much for such kind and encouraging words about my blog. I am making an effort to educate myself and my blogger friends about those aspects of law enforcement which most of us take for granted or never notice at all. Our protectors do so much for us and as a society unless we understand their role in society fully we cannot reach out to them to offer our support and respect which they so rightly deserve. I am glad you find the information on my blog important and thoughtful. See you soon. Take care and have a lovely day. God bless.

Would generally agree; however, here in the U.S. the climate has changed – Laws that favor the criminal element, and ignore the victims. Police are hamstrung by these developments. You’re probably aware of the ability of government to spy on its own citizens via technology. (check out my “Big Brother” and Rogue Government” tabs.)

The police officer – the honest one – is probably one of the hardest jobs i can think of, especially in the current era. But rest assured, this profession will have it’s credibility and honor restored soon, so it’ll be recognized once again what great individuals true police officers really are. The upcoming fall of the dark forces will make it a much more enjoyable experience to work for the protection and the well-being of society, as it should be.
I’d also like to thank you for your many likes on my blog. Although i merely post links to the work of others, it kinda makes the whole thing worthwhile.
