“This year isn’t like other years. But even these challenging times are a good opportunity to think about what it means to be Canadian. I’m inviting you. whoever and wherever you are, to take part in all the great activities we have planned. Today, Canada’s history-our values, our talents and our creativity-are on display for the whole world. Today is our day-Happy Canada Day!”
-The Honorable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

Dear Bloggers and friends,
This is not our usual Canada Day as Canada Day celebrations come during a pandemic. However, we can say we are celebrating pandemic-friendly Canada Day. Safety is the top priority, as social distancing protocols are in place and no large gatherings are allowed. This does not mean we are not going to have fun. Virtual celebrations will be streamed online and we’ll enjoy virtual fireworks. We may be apart physically but we’re finding new ways to be together virtually. Happy Canada Day to all!!!

July 1st is the 153 anniversary of the Confederation. We also salute the key role of the Metis’ Nation in bringing Manitoba into the Confederation 150 years ago.

Lovely! Thank you for sharing wonderful events. It would be a bizarre and dangerous world if we did no give our love and hearts to those who protect and serve. I am in N. Calif. I have traveled in Canada….an amazing and beautiful country!
