“Uncle Police Officer take me home, I want to go home”-A kidnapped child’s plea to a Police Officer.

(This post is dedicated to the memory of Anna who was just three years old when she was kidnapped and killed by strangers. Her sister a ten-year old (who was also kidnapped with Anna) escaped to tell Anna’s story.)

Through the cracks in the door and walls,

I try to look for my defender around.

My vision is blurry,

and I hear no sound.

Dear Police Officer, I am all alone,

Please come I want to go home,

Please take me home,

A Laurel police officer carries a child to safety

A Laurel police officer carries a child to safety

to my beautiful home.

Uncle Police Officer take me,

to my mother, and to my father.

My captors give me nothing to eat,

to my sorrow and my grief.

I cry alone and my body aches,

when they call my name I tremble and shake.

I meet people I have never seen or known,

They hurt me for reasons unknown.

I am too weak and frail,

My short life will end with no trail.

I lived like a drop of dew poured by the night,

And dried by the touch of the light.

My soul is hastening towards eternity,

This day will be sadness for humanity.

Is this the life of men? the life of nations?

the life of suns? the moons? the stars?

the life of innocent children?

and all creations?

Uncle Police Officer come soon to me,

Be just to me, or call death,

To un-shackle me,

For justice is your glory.

Millions of children are abducted every year the world over for ransom, illegal adoption, human trafficking which includes slavery, forced labor, sexual abuse, or even illegal organ trading, and murder. Any crime against a child is the deepest and the ugliest scar on the face of humanity.

“So long as little children are allowed to suffer, there is no true love in this world.”

This is a sad state all over the world. 😦
I hope and pray that we could put a stop to this despicable crimes. Justice should be served to the guilty.

    • Yes I agree with you all the way. Nothing is worse than a crime against an innocent helpless child and those responsible must be severely punished. We as a society have to aid the Police Officers who protect the children, and we also have to take individual responsibility to create a safe environment for our children. Thank you so much for the visit and the input. I am happy to see you. Take care and God bless.

    • Yes Jill, I agree with you child abduction is heartbreaking. Police officers do their best to be visible enough for the safety of children and citizens have to cooperate with them. Also education for children is also necessary that in case of any danger whom to trust, police officer is their only hope. God bless our police force and keep them safe for us. Thank you for such kind words my friend. Take care and God bless.

    • Yes Ellie we do live in a world where more kindness and care for each other and faith in goodness is needed. These issues of small children are heart wrenching realities. We need to educate the public and cooperation with the law enforcement is the most crucial call of these times. I have great hope that goodness will prevail since we have more good people than bad in this world. You and your blog is a testament to this. Thank you so much my friend for your kind thoughts. Excellent post, too much innocence lost these days, not like when I was growing up and I’m sure there were creeps out there but not as bad as these days…

    • I agree with you Ed. Not many years ago when I was a child things were quite alright. We could play outside without any fear, walk to school all by ourselves. Now things all over the world have deteriorated. Our police force is the best in the world and 97% of kidnapped children here are recovered by them. This does not happen elsewhere in the world. But still too many kids are being abducted and that is a sad state of affairs. We as citizens have to be aware and extend full support and cooperation to the Police Force. They are doing their best. Thanks for such kind words about the post. Take care, God bless and be safe on your journey of life.

I don’t agree with Isadora Duncan (and possibly you?) on that, but I guess that is how she felt.

    I agree, however,
with your comment “things all over the world have deteriorated”. I also believe the verse “the LOVE of money is the root of all evil”. Although I believe, too, that sadly some people might do these types of things not just from greed. 😦

Interesting that 97% of kidnapped children in Canada are recovered!

    Like

    • Hi terrepruitt. Nice to hear from you. Yes I do believe that some people do these crimes not just for money or their insatiable greed. Actually according to the stats of missing children in United States 800,000 children in USA are abducted every year mostly by family members and 97% are recovered. This stats is for USA. In Canada the stats are not so clear but very few children are abducted by strangers as in United States and most are recovered. I do not have the exact percentage. Around the world hardly any child is recovered and situation is very sad. We owe a lot to our Police Officers for their efforts to recover the abducted children. Of course there are other forms of true loves in this world, I agree with you. Take care and God bless.

God bless you. Big hugs, Stefania. 🙂

    • Yes Stefania this is a very very disturbing story but these hard truths have to be bought out so that we know what is happening all around the world and also around us. One way to stop it is a concerted effort of the communities to come together for all children of the community and cooperate with the Police Force who are forefront in fighting this and protecting and recovering our children. Education for the children is also important as to how to be vigilant all the time and who to trust. Thanks for your visit my friend. I appreciate your valuable input. Lots of hugs and love for you. Take care and God bless.

  13. How sad. Thank you for highlighting this awful crime of abducting children. As a mother, my heart cries with all parents whose children have suffered at the hands of the cruel and heartless. When will the day come when children do not have to reach out for this kind of help?

    • So nice to see you here my friend. I have missed you very much. I agree this got to be the most painful experience for parent to go through. We need to keep our children well informed and educated on this issue and communities need to act together in cooperation with the law enforcement officers to protect our children. Vigilance is very important in this matter. Prayers for our Police Officers and our children for their safety are also important. Take care my friend and God bless.

Thanks for publishing this outstanding post on a subject that matters. Kidnapping children is such a grievous matter and without doubt we all need to get to know our neighbors very well so the incidence of children being wooed away by evil doers is reduced. I don’t know what the stats are in Canada with regard to abductions by strangers as compared to child abduction is by a parent or guardian. I suspect the latter may be more prevalent but have nothing to base that assumption on. What goes on in the mind of a parent who snatches and hides a child from the other parent and in extreme cases includes taking on new identities and travelling from place to place hiding from police and the other parent is a sickness rooted in hatefulness that defies comprehension. I read on the missingkids.ca site that: “Research shows that of the 58,000 non-family abductions each year in the United States, 63% involved a family friend, long-term acquaintance, neighbour, caretaker, babysitter or person in a position of authority and only 37% involved a stranger.”

    • Thank you so much for taking out time from your busy schedule to comment on the post. Stats in Canada are not available on any other site but that of RCMP. However, the first Canadian statistics on missing children were released in 1987. There were 57,233 children reported missing that year. In 2012, there were 45,090 reports of missing children in Canada as recorded by the RCMP. Most of the cases were of abductions by the family members and very few by strangers. Most of the children are recovered and the runaway children come back. We are lucky in Canada since it is still a very safe country for our children. Surprisingly the stats of missing children have not been maintained after 2008 by any Canadian agency except for RCMP. This is something I will look into and work on. It is a terrible situation for a parent whose child is taken away by the other parent and no doubt leaves deep scars on the minds of children. I agree with you we need to know our neighbors well so that we help each other in looking after our children. Thanks once again for your valuable input. Take care and God bless.

It is terrible to spend much time (for me personally) thinking about the horrors that some of the defenseless, helpless children must find themselves trapped within. I pray for the sick, the weak, the young, and the aged…any helpless being who cannot fight back..I pray that God’s protection is not far away and that the policemen or a good samaritan is just moments from arriving to save them from the hands of the predatory ones.

I join you in your prayers for the helpless and vulnerable who cannot fight back. Imagine the task of Police Officers who are parents of small children and who search for the lost children and sometimes find the results not so agreeable. We are lucky to have them and the good samaritans. thanks for your valuable input my friend. Take care and God bless.

    • Thank you so much for such kind words of appreciation. Yes our hearts do feel intense pain when a helpless child cries out in agony. Police Officers have a very tough job each day as they are also parents of small children. It is no doubt very brave of them to rescue and protect our children sometimes at the cost of their own lives. That’s why we need to honor them for being our protectors which is the least we can do. You take care and God bless.

He goes out of his way to give safety talks and ‘Stranger Danger’ and role playing talks to all levels of Boys Scouts and the Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scouts, and he talks to church youth groups and sports groups, too.
Thank you for this tribute to police officers, and this reminder that we all need to be careful and supportive and protective of all children.

    • Thanks Marylin for sharing your valuable thoughts. Yes indeed writing the poem and thinking hard what a child in that kind of a state would be thinking was very hard for me. After I wrote the poem, I also cried. It is the sad reality of our times that so many children are kidnapped everyday around the world never to be found again. The issue upsets me every time I read any such story. Police officer is the only hope for the kidnapped child. You are blessed to have a son in law who is a Police Officer and you know first hand how he tries hard to protect the children of the community. Communities are responsible for cooperating with the police officers to protect our children. Education and awareness in these issues is very important. You and your community are blessed to have a Police Officer doing so much for the children. Who else can feel this way and protect our children? Our Blessings and prayers for his safety and security. Take care and God bless.
