This website is dedicated to recognize the services provided by the law enforcement agencies specially the police force and cover the topic of the role of law enforcement officers in combating crime and dealing with other social issues facing the society. The audience will be the entire society, people of all ages. I will be adding my views regularly. I am doing this because crime has become a major issue in our society regardless of the area you live in or the age group that you belong to. I am trying to put my positive contribution while the police force is tackling these issues and the public is at guard. It is also my view that crime knows no boundaries and it touches us all so a collective effort will be required to help the law enforcement agencies meet their goals.
In the light of the recent incidents of violence involving shootings and killings, and violence related to gangs, incidents of cyber bullying resulting in suicides of youngsters which have taken place in our country, I am extremely disturbed and horrified. This problem is affecting all North America. No city or locality has remained immune to such violence that shatters our lives in so many ways. Police alone cannot fight this menace. Society has to get involved and aid police and other law enforcement agencies to combat this serious situation.
In this whole spectrum of violence we look at the victims of crime and the offenders of the law but we never give a second’s thought to the realities the police officers face. Police officers are foremost in the line of duty who witness the gruesome violence in its raw form, since they are the first to arrive at the scene of crime. Not even once it crosses the threshold of our mind that they are also humans like us, they also have families, and after such nerve wrecking incidents they have to live a normal life with them.
Society feels that by giving financial compensation to its protectors it absolves itself from further moral responsibilities. Combating crime must not only be the responsibility of a police officer but the obligation of the entire society at large. If we do not lend a hand to the police officer as a society he cannot execute his job effectively even if he strives exceptionally hard. Society has to realize that a police officer puts his life on-line for all of us and we owe him/her respect and co-operation.
I feel that in this ever-changing world things are changing for the worse and the social and moral fabric of our society has been severely tattered. In this atmosphere I believe that the law enforcement officers are the sole promise of hope for the innocent citizens. These are the officers who are continually in the forefront to fight the modern-day warfare to safeguard the citizens against harm and keep up public orderliness. I strongly feel that we need to help them with all our means and in every possible way, since our very survival depends on this.
It is my wish to make my fellow citizens aware of the importance of the law enforcement officers and my undertaking is to communicate to them that it is easy to criticize than to appreciate what these officers are doing for us. I feel public education and awareness is very crucial in this regard.
Who knows my little contribution may make a small impact towards making this world that we live in a better place for all of us?
